A faithful reproduction of Gustav Klimt's famous painting, "The Kiss." Machine pieced and appliquéd, with shots of metallic fabrics and threadwork. Lots of detailed and intricate work on a very small scale, finished off with a small amount of oil paintsticks to give dimension to the faces and skin.
A work inspired by caladiums and impatiens growing in my front yard. Leaves and flowers burst out of daylight into the night sky and onto the earth. Placement of the main leaves was taken from a photograph, the rest is from imagination.
A very large quilt of Janis Joplin in concert. Very stylized, with star fabrics in her hair and real glass beads for jewelry. Metallic threadwork gives a touch of sparkle. Also included in the small orange border a text quote from one of her famous songs.
A quilt created for a challenge competition entitled "Star Power," using preselected fabrics, as well as other perameters which needed to be adhered to. My interpretation was loosely based on Van Gogh's "Starry Night" painting. Metallic threads and beadwork were used to make this piece really shine! This quilt took first place in the competition.
Neon brights give way to a shadowy background, creating a three-dimentionality to this lively, dancing fern quilt. This quilt took first place in the Small Professional category two years ago at the Mountain Quiltfest.
An early piece which I entered into national competition and took Best of Show. Owned by the City of Pigeon Forge, as part of the City's quilt collection.

As a textile artist living in Western North Carolina, I make pictorial quilts for sale or by commission, display my work in galleries, and enter competitions. Much of my work comes with the provenance of recognition in these competitions. I would be pleased to make a customized work of art for you from a special photo, or the subject matter of your choice.
