The Lizard King

THE LIZARD KING

My first portrait of Jim Morrison of the Doors, taken from his most well-known photograph. I have since done a 2nd quilt of this image as a commission.

I love your quilt, I am working on a new one too. I drew the picture first, then found and bought this great program that blows it up and prints it any size I want it, I just tape the paper together. I was writing you back regarding Velda’s class. I really enjoyed the class and had fun experimenting with all the different things. I don’t know if you familiar with her work but it is really big and she shared a postcard of a small piece of her new quilt which is foxgloves. She said its 12 feet! Wow, I can’t imagine, plus she often hand quilts them. I enjoy incorporating different techniques into my quilts, so this was a great class. Plus she was so down to earth, no ego problem.

Hello Vyvyan
Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm impressed with your quilts and your pencil drawings & look forward to seeing your Mahler portrait when you get round to posting it.

Howdy love,

Hey I was just checking out your site since you gave me this address. I was the drunken dude you hung out with at the bar last night. I wasn't that bad, but for me and I can only say lately, I consider it pretty bad. I see from looking here that you're a stand up person who's not just looking to get down my pants. (ha!) Anyway I really like your work and wouldn't mind hanging out again sometime as friends where I can talk more in depth with you about art and philosophy. You can tell me more about Oscar Wilde. Good luck. I'll spread the word about your talent.
